William Wesley Jones, Jr.

William Jones, Jr.age 75, went to his heavenly home on Thursday, March 30, 2023 in Hammond, La.  He was born in Albany, Louisiana to the late, Gladys and William Jones Sr.  He was a 1966 graduate from Albany High School, who went on to retire as a Master Sergeant from the Department of Corrections after 20 years of dedicated service.  William was a proud member of the Teamsters Local #5.  He enjoyed spending time with his family, planning family reunions, playing pool and going fishing.  William was an avid reader, he could get lost in any book from Stephen King to Louis L'Amour, while listening to oldies music, especially Elvis.  Or you could find him coaching LSU from the comfort of his own couch.  Above all, William loved spending time with his family and was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, who is already deeply missed by all who knew him.

He leaves behind his loving wife of 52 years, MaryAnn Schillage Jones; adoring daughter, Sherri Lynn Jones Rester and husband Randy; beautiful granddaughter, Laci Shae Rester; siblings, Essie Kinchen and husband Jerry, Allen "Bootsie" Jones and wife Jackie, sister-in-law, Glenda C. Jones; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents; siblings, Mary Lou Jones Wakeham, Willis Shelton Jones Sr., and Penny Neal; and his grandparents, Willis and Mary Jones, and Shelton and Janie Stilley.
