William “Scott” Stanga died (disappeared while spearfishing) on  Friday, July 31, 2020 in Hana, Hawaii.  Scott is survived by his son, Chase Stanga, and Chase’s mother, Lisa Power; his mother, Phyllis Stanga; older brother, Jon (Tara); sisters Cindy (Morgan) and Marisa (Jeffrey); and his nieces and nephews Emily, Ryan, Jasmine, Sawyer, Sage, Iris, and Rosemary.  Scott is preceded in death by his grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. William Burns McIntyre of Ponchatoula and Mr. and Mrs. Robert D. Stanga, Sr., also of Ponchatoula.

Scott was born September 28, 1967 in Opelika, Alabama.  Scott grew up the son of a Naval Officer in Rota, Spain as well as Monterey, Point Magu and Thousand Oaks, California. Scott graduated from Ponchatoula High School, Class of 1985, and graduated from Life Chiropractic in Atlanta in 1996.  Scott was most proud of his son Chase.  Scott, who at his core, was the sweetest of souls, was best known for his love of animals and the earth, and his electric smile.  

Scott will be memorialized along with his father, Robert Daniel Stanga, Jr., who passed away on May 18, 2021.  Family and friends will be received at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, 100 W. Magnolia Street, Ponchatoula, Louisiana 70454 on Saturday, May 28, 2022 from 8:30 am until 10:30 am.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 255 North 8th Street, Ponchatoula, Louisiana 70454 on Saturday at 11:00 am, with Fr. Paul McDuffie officiating.

Also, a gathering for friends and family will be held on Sunday, May 29th at 39364 Meadow Ridge Lane, Ponchatoula from 2:00-5:00 PM.
