Virginia entered the gates of Heaven July 31st, 2022 at the age of 88. She was born September 1st, 1933 to Philip and Lucy Costanza (Ruffino) in Amite, La.

She graduated from Amite High School in 1950. She then began a career with ATT where she worked her way to upper management before retiring after 35 years.

Virginia married Olan Fisher, June 30th, 1953. She was a devoted wife to Olan for 37 years till his passing in 1990. They owned Fisher’s Bargain Center in Amite.

Virginia volunteered many many years, along with her sister, Laura, at North Oak Hospital and Catholic Daughters.

Her favorite title of all, was being “Nan” to her nieces and nephews as well as their children. Nan was always smiling and always positive in spirit. She loved to travel and care for others, always willing to help with anything that needed to be done. She had a beautiful soul and was loved by all.

Nan is preceded in death by her husband, Olan. Her parents, Philip and Lucy, and her youngest brother, Louis Costanza.

She is survived by her sister, Laura Costanza, of Hammond, brother Sonny Costanza, wife Lynette, of Amite, and sister Mary Perrin, husband Iggy, of Hammond. Sister-in-law, Cindy Costanza  of Okmulgee, Okla. Uncle Louis S. Ruffino, Jr of Baton Rouge, nieces, Malissa Costanza, Jessica Costanza, Candice Piediscalzo and Gene Anderson. Nephews Rodney Miller, Mark Perrin, Brian Costanza, Todd Perrin, and Caleb Costanza. Along with many great nieces and nephews.

Viewing is Friday, August 5th from 5-8pm at McKneely’s Funeral Home in Hammond. Visitation will continue on Saturday from 9:00a.m. until 10:00a.m. in the funeral home chapel.

Service is 10:30 at Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Hammond.

Interment Amite Memorial Garden.
