Sue Mixon
Sue peacefully passed away at her Ponchatoula residence on Tuesday, October 25, 2022. She earned her Masters Degree in Education, then went on to teach English and Speech at Ponchatoula High School. Sue had a love for the city life and moved to New Orleans where she retired from Riverdale High School with over 35 years of molding the minds of future generations as a dedicated teacher. She enjoyed music, playing piano and spending time with her family and is already deeply missed.
Sue is survived by her brother, Frank Mixon; numerous nieces and nephews; as well as her friend and caregiver, Jack Rayburn; and her beloved pet, Minu.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Niva “Sissie” Mixon; and her sister, Gwendolyn Perrin.
Family and friends are invited to attend Sue's Memorial at the PARDs Event Center, 19030 Ponchatoula Park Drive, Ponchatoula, LA 70454 on December 18, 2022 from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m.
