Patricia “Pat” Darlene Fabre Wheat, age 67, passed away peacefully on Easter Sunday, April 4, 2021 at her home in Independence, Louisiana.  She was born September 26, 1953, in Hammond, Louisiana to Joseph “Bill” Fabre and Etta Lucretia “Lou” Keen Fabre.  Pat was a stay-at-home mom to her only daughter, Brandy, and later went to work as a Certified Nursing Assistant.  She worked for several home health agencies and loved taking care of her “little old people”.

Pat loved her family more than anything and loved visiting with them. She never met a stranger, as most strangers quickly became family.  She was lovingly known as “Momma Pat” or “Aunt Pat” to most that knew her.  She was funny and quick witted, always smiling and laughing, and quick to pull a joke.  She loved life.  If you ever met her, her smile was contagious, and her hugs were better than your grandmas.  She carried numerous box cutters with her, as her running joke was “you never know when you may need to cut someone, or a cake!”

Pat is survived by her loving daughter, Brandy Wheat Baker and son-in-law, Richard “Ricky” Baker.  A grandson, Joshua Hughes, who was lovingly referred to as “the golden child”, a granddaughter who let her get away with anything, Courtney Baker, and 2 great grandsons, Russell and Laithen Emmert.

She is also survived by her brother, Joseph “Billy” Fabre and sister-in-law, Tammy Fabre; Brother, Timmy Fabre and sister-in-law, Donna Fabre; Brother, Danny Fabre; and special nieces Ashley Whiddon, Melissa Anthony and Kalyn Bowling.

Pat is proceeded in death by her parents; sister Marsha Albin and husband Wayne Albin; brother, Bruce Fabre, and brother Tommy Fabre.

She is also proceeded in death by her fiancé Eazers “Gene” Anthony; her husband, Jesse Wheat; and her lifelong best friend, Kathy Kiss King.
