Nancy peacefully passed away Friday morning, August 5th, 2022, at North Oaks Medical Center surrounded by her loving family.  She was a feisty lady who wore her heart on her sleeve and would not hesitate to let you know what was on her mind.  Most who knew her, knew her as “Nan”. Nan loved in her own way, but when it came to family, there was a love like no other.  She attended every family function, where you could always see her cutting-up, dancing, having a good time, and making memories that the family will cherish forever.

For many years, she was a waitress at Jacks Café in Albany, where she met so many of her friends.  Nan loved Hi-Ho Bar-B-Que, and was a regular on Fridays to drink a pop.  Nancy would iron clothes for her friends and family to make her spending money for her casino trips.  In her later years, Nancy enjoyed her flowers, windchimes, Christmas lights, angels, and trinkets that she collected over the years. She would often be found visiting friends and getting into mischief whenever she could.  Nan was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who is already deeply missed.

She is survived by her sons, Joseph Foster and wife Angie, and Ashley Adams and wife Tiffany; grandchildren, Brianna Foster and fiancé Brant, Joanna Foster Hoyt and husband Gator, Hanna Adams Campbell and husband Cody, and Bryce Adams and girlfriend Desiree; precious great grandchildren, Easton, Ella, and Stetson. Nancy is also survived by her brother, Samuel Butch Stewart and wife Joyce; sister, Audrey Lee Purvis; and a sister-in-law, Elnora Stewart; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding Nancy in death are her husband, Newton Adams; parents, Emmett and Hazel Stewart; brother, Langford “Jim” Stewart; and her brother-in-law, Harold Purvis.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Visitation at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Hammond on Saturday, August 13th from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. There will be a fellowship at Bethlehem Baptist Church to follow visitation at 12:30 p.m.
