Mrs. Myrtle Caston, of Hammond, LA passed away on March 23, 2022. She was a long-time resident of Hammond and owner of Cedar Motel and Antiques, Etc. She was an avid gardener and spent lots of time outdoors with her flowers, daylilies, and lemon trees. She also loved to cook for her family. She enjoyed collecting and repairing antique dolls. Myrtle and Robert Caston had five children, four surviving. Her daughters were with her at her bedside. She was loved by her family and will be missed. Mrs. Caston will be buried in a graveside service Monday, March 28, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at Holly Gardens Cemetery. It will be a family only service. She is survived by her children, Debbie Daigle (Joseph), Sandra Strozier (Robert), Connie Caston, and Fritz Caston; grandchildren, Jodie Robinson (Tony), Joseph Daigle, Jr. (Shea), Jess Daigle, Robert Caston, III, Scott Strozier, and Austin Strozier; great grandchildren, Chloe Robinson, Sophie Robinson, Blaize Daigle, Gwendolyn Daigle, Cora Daigle, Maggie Daigle, Ryder Caston, Riley Caston, and Bennett Caston. She is preceded in death by her parents, Pierre and Una Chastant; spouse, Robert W. Caston, Sr.; son, Robert W. Caston, Jr., and granddaughter, Brittany Beaulieu. The family would like to thank Jeanette Forbes, Pat Thompson and Dave Niedbala for their help and assistance during these trying times.
