Mark Alton Byers, of Ponchatoula, Louisiana, passed away at on Tuesday, March 14, 2023, at the age of 61. He was born on Monday, February 19, 1962, in Hammond, Louisiana.
Marks passions were music and teaching children his gift.
Mark is survived by his mother, Dorothy "Dottie" Byers Calmes, sister and brother-in-law, Rose and Dave Forrester, sister and brother-in-law, Donna and Paul Driver, sister, Colleen Byers Crain, sister, Karen Calmes Mooney, brother & sister-in-law, John Charles and Julie Byers, brother & sister-in-law, Keith and Carmen Calmes, brother & sister-in-law, Brian and Kathy Calmes, as well as, nieces, Mary , Sara, Alicia, Elizabeth, and Rachel, and nephews, David, Jason, Joshua, Aaron, Christian, Jacob, Caleb, and Ian, all whom he dearly loved.
He was preceded in death by his father, Emery Byers. his brother Paul Byers, and nephew, Andrew Charles Forrester, and his stepfather, William R Calmes.
Family and friends will be received at Harry McKneely and Son Funeral Home - Ponchatoula, 100 W. Magnolia St., Ponchatoula, Louisiana on Saturday, March 18, 2023, from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 1:00p.m.
Interment will follow at Morse Cemetery in Bedico, Louisiana.
