Lois Jackson Broome of Hammond, Louisiana passed away peacefully on June 19, 2021 at the age of 98 years old. Lois was often described as a true Southern lady. Her Southern style and hospitality never went unnoticed. Lois' devotion to her family was impossible to miss and extended down to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved cooking her famous pancakes, homemade biscuits, and baking her cakes and pies for everyone. Lois attended and enjoyed every family event and activity for all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They knew that Maw Maw would always be there. Lois was a member of Woodland Park Baptist Church and loved reading her Bible daily and attending Bible study.

Lois was preceded in death by her loving husband, Scott J. Broome, Sr.; her parents, James E. and Nannie C. Jackson; six sisters; and three brothers.

Surviving are her children, Scott J. Broome, Jr. (Kathy) and Judy B. Miller (Mike); grandchildren, Michael S. Miller (Brianna), Ashley M. Howell (Jason), and David Scott Broome; and great-grandchildren, Krista and Marissa Miller and Lexie and Logan Howell.

Friends and relatives are invited to attend the graveside service for Lois on Thursday, June 24, 2021, at Rose Memorial Park Cemetery, 908 Western Avenue, Hammond, Louisiana 70401, beginning at 10:00 AM.

The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the staff of Oak Park Village Assisted Living, where she called home for many months and made wonderful friends and special memories. Her last few days were spent in a beautiful, serene atmosphere at the Richard Murphy Hospice House, where compassion, care, and concern were present beyond words.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Richard Murphy Hospice House in Lois' name.
