Janice Marie McLaughlin Picou, of Ponchatoula, Louisiana, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, May 14, 2022, at the age of 79. She was born on December 28, 1942, the daughter of the late Percy Harry McLaughlin and Odessa McKinney McLaughlin. Janice, lovingly known as MawMaw, worked many years at Mabel's Grocery where she was the head cook and Brenda A.'s Donut Shop. Janice enjoyed taking care of people especially through her home cooked meals.
Janice is survived by her daughter, Robin Lindsey (Gary); granddaughters, Lyndi Lindsey King (Taylor) and Rhianna Lindsey; grandson, Oliver Oseng; brothers, James McLaughlin, Sr., Douglas McLaughlin, and Marvin McLaughlin, Sr.; her very dear sister-in-law, Sue Cooper (Bob); and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Janice was preceded in death by her brothers, Percy Harry McLaughlin, Jr., Jerry McLaughlin, and Russell McLaughlin.
Services will be held privately. Family and friends are encouraged to send condolences and share memories online.
Janice will be laid to rest at McKinney Cemetery in Killian, Louisiana.
