Pepitone, Sr., James Albert

James Albert Pepitone, Sr., a lifelong resident of Ponchatoula passed away at home peacefully, Saturday, January 15, 2022, at the age of 86.  Albert retired from Kaiser Aluminum on June 1, 1986, and then went to work with the Steelworkers Union in 2001 in Chalmette, LA.  He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Bernice Booth Pepitone; sons, Jimmy Pepitone (Lynne), and Keith Pepitone (Paulette); brothers, Danny Pepitone, Jr. (Ruth), and Wayne Pepitone (Polly); sisters, Rita Charbonnet, Brenda Lipscomb (Gene), and Cathy Dugas (Louis); grandchildren, Jamie Pepitone, Sara Pepitone O’shea, Mindy Pepitone (Jonathan), Jason Pepitone, Amanda Wells, and Caitlin Wells (Mike); great granddaughter, Fiona O’shea; and numerous nieces and nephews.  He is preceded in death by his father, Dan Pepitone; mother, Josie Nuccio Pepitone; brothers, William “Buck” Pepitone, and Joseph Pepitone; and sisters, Eugenia “Sis” Ritter and Dorothy Lemoine.  Friends will be received at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, 200 South Magnolia Avenue, Ponchatoula, Friday, January 21, 2020, from 9:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m.  Religious services will follow at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 255 North 8th Street, Ponchatoula at 12 noon celebrated Deacon Larry Melancon.  Burial will follow in Wetmore Cemetery.  Following the burial service, a reception will be held at Millville Baptist Church Fellowship Hall, 621 West McClellan Street, Ponchatoula.  Memorial donations may be made to St. Joseph’s Hospice, 1010 C.M.
