Fred Albert Miller

Fred was born to Dempsy Albert Miller and Thelma (Fontenot) Miller on February 14, 1947, and went home to be with the Lord on October 19, 2021.

Fred attended Our Lady Catholic School in Sulphur, LA, and then attended Sulphur High School and SOWELA Tech graduating in 1965.  In 1966 Fred was drafted into the Army.  He reached the rank of E5, received the National Defense Service Medal, and was an Expert Marksman (M-14).  Fred was Honorably Discharged in 1969.  After the Army Fred went to work in his chosen trade as a Specialty Welder and worked on off days as a Hunting and Fishing Guide.  Some years later he got the Shrimp Boat Captain bug, and had a successful 14 year career, but his true passion for Welding was calling his name.  Fred went back to work as a Specialty Welder traveling all over the United States, and one stint offshore in Africa.  Fred retired in 2009.  Fred had a passion for NASCAR, and loved going to races, his favorite driver was Dale Jr.  

Fred was preceded in death by his parents, Dempsy and Thelma Miller, his sister Merlyn (Weeks), brother-in-law Robert Weeks, and his daughter Jamie Tweedy.  Fred is survived by his wife Nicole, children; Monika Jinks (Bodie), Rick Miller, and Carli Tweedy (Adam Baker).  His grandchildren; Savanah Patin (Anthony), Kristin Brown (Brian), Brylynn, Kylyn, and Jace Baker.  His great grandchildren; Taydem, Huntley, Bentley, and Blaise Patin. Banks, Quinn, and Bennett Brown. His sister Kathryn Nevils and brother-in-law Russell.  Also, many many cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and in-laws.  He loved each and every one dearly.
