Estelle Wilson Marcum passed away on Tuesday, November 16, 2021, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, at the age of 98.  She was born on Friday, March 16, 1923 in Pumpkin Center, to the late Ella Ballard and the late Murphy Wilson.  She was a resident of Denham Springs, Louisiana.

Estelle worked at Community State Bank before retiring after 30 years. She loved all animals, especially dogs, and was a devoted LSU fan. Estelle also loved her crossword puzzles.

Estelle is survived by her daughter, Ettie Lee Coates Travis; sons, Glynn Coates (Paulette) and Clay Coates (Allie); 6 grandchildren, Norma Hughes, Kindra Coates, Kai Coates, Krista Coates Turner, Buffy Dapprich, and Dustin Coates; 6 great-grandchildren; 2 step grandchildren, Lacy Stephens and Heather Neu; 1 step-great-grandson; 1 step-great-granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by her father, Murphy Wilson and step-mother, Annie; mother, Ella Ballard, and step-father, Antoine; first husband, Gus W. Coates; second husband, Warren Eugene Marcum; great-grandson, Ashton Coates; brother, Dewayne A. Ballard.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Harry McKneely and Son Funeral Home, 2000 N Morrison Boulevard, Hammond, Louisiana 70401, on Wednesday, November 17, 2021, from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM. The visitation will continue the following day, Thursday, November 18, 2021, at Jerusalem Baptist Church, 11109 Jerusalem Church Road, Pumpkin Center, Louisiana 70454, on Thursday, November 18, 2021 from 9:00 AM until the funeral service begins at 11:00 AM.  

Interment will follow in Jerusalem Baptist Church Cemetery, Pumpkin Center, Louisiana.
