Eleanor "Maw-Maw" Holmes of Robert, Louisiana, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, March 26, 2023, at the age of 81. She was born on Thursday, March 05, 1942, in Loranger, Louisiana to the late Luther and Gladys Fendlason. Eleanor was a faithful servant of the Lord Jesus Christ, and a loving wife and mother. She enjoyed caring for her grandchildren and was affectionately known as "Maw-Maw" to family and friends.
Eleanor is survived by her husband of 63 years, Robert "Bobby" Holmes, two sons, Donald Holmes (Teresa) and Doug Holmes; daughter, Pam Holmes Dawson (Jimmy Wilkinson); grandchildren, Holt Holmes(Tiffany), Chesley Holmes Strain (Britton), Dustin Dawson, Brooke Dawson, Dylan Dawson and Lawson Chadwick: great-grandchildren, Kohen Holmes, Stetson Holmes, and Finley Strain.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters, Marie Townley, Leona Stubs, and Francis Furhman, and her brothers, Donald Fendlason and Carl Fendlason.
Family and friends will be received at Bedico Baptist Church, 28156 Highway 22 East, Ponchatoula, Louisiana 70454 on Saturday, April 1, 2023, from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm.
A Funeral Service will be held at Bedico Baptist Church, 28156 Highway 22 East, Ponchatoula, Louisiana 70454 on Saturday at 1:00 pm.
Interment will follow at Lanier Cemetery in Loranger, Louisiana.
