Elaine McClendon Dunaway, of Ponchatoula, Louisiana, passed away at North Oaks Medical Center on Thursday, March 30, 2023, at the age of 83. She was born on Friday, December 1, 1939, in Ponchatoula, Louisiana, the daughter of the late Archie McClendon and Vilear Taylor McClendon.
Elaine is survived by her daughters, Deborah Lynn D. Cutrer and her husband William Robert Cutrer and Dorothy Darlene D. Wiggins; grandchildren, Jeremy Wiggins and his fiancée Jessica Morgan, Kristin Mounce and her husband Kendall Mounce, Robby Cutrer, Chris Davis and his wife Candice Davis, Katie Jenkins and her husband Cody Jenkins, Dustin Cutrer and his wife Kendra Cutrer; great-grandchildren, Gabby, Mason, Emma, Ava, Coy, Ethan, Madelyn and Makenzly; and brother, John McClendon.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Coy O. Dunaway; parents, Archie McClendon and Vilear T. McClendon; sisters, Ellender M. Berteau, Pamela McClendon, and infant sister Virgie McClendon; brother, Lionel McClendon; and son-in-law, James "Jay Boy" Wiggins.
Family and friends will be received at Pentecostals of Loranger, 20155 Milk Plant Road, Loranger, Louisiana 70446 on Saturday, April 1, 2023 from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm. Visitation will continue at the church on Sunday, April 2, 2023, from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm.
A Funeral Service will be held at the church on Sunday at 1:00 pm.
Interment will follow at Ponchatoula Cemetery.
