Edith Holden Bardwell, of Ponchatoula, Louisiana, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, June 17, 2021, at the age of 79. She was born on Wednesday, November 26, 1941, in Independence, Louisiana. Edith was a member of Jerusalem Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and worshipped. Edith was also very active professionally throughout her life. She held all offices with the American Business Women Association, including Woman of the Year, President of Hammond Area Republican Women, President of the Ponchatoula High School Vocal Club Board, and President of the Tangipahoa Parish Library Board. She held multiple offices in the Hammond Area Red Hat Society, including Queen Mother: and various offices in PTA and Boosters Club, including Treasurer. Edith was part owner of D&D Unemployment Screening, and also worked for Wells Fargo Bank- San Franciso, Monroe County- Key West, Blackwell Electric, First Guaranty Bank, and the Tangipahoa Teachers Credit Union.

Edith is survived by her husband, Carl Bardwell; daughter & son-in-law, Monica Bardwell Hutson and her husband Lance; nephew, Dennis K. Bardwell whom she considered a son; grandchildren, Jordan Blair Hutson Threadgill and her husband Jacob, Emily Anne Hutson and Mackenzie Elizabeth Hutson; honorary grandchildren, Amy Bardwell Bush and her husband Jason, April Bardwell, and Steven Bardwell and his wife Shanell; great-grandchildren, Hadley Hayden Threadgill, Bexley Grace Hutson and future great-grandchild, Hutson Claire Threadgill; honorary great-grandchildren, Tyler, Jayla, Colton and Zoe; brother's in law, C.D. Bardwell and his wife Cloma, and George Bardwell; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Edna Rushing Holden; brothers, Wesley Holden and Harold Holden; twin sisters, Ruth and Ruby Holden; and twin sons, Douglas Allen Bardwell and Dudley Preston Bardwell.

Visitation for Family and Friends will be on Tuesday, June 22, 2021, from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Jerusalem Baptist Church, 11109 Jerusalem Church Road, Hammond, Louisiana, 70403. Visitation will continue on Wednesday, June 23, 2021, from 8:00 am until the Funeral Service begins at 10:00 am at Jerusalem Baptist Church.  

Interment will follow at Cooper Cemetery in Robert, Louisiana.
