Charles "Buddy" Rexwell Rogers, Sr. passed away on Monday, January 31, 2022, in Ponchatoula, Louisiana, at the age of 91. He was born on Saturday, October 4, 1930 in Natalbany, Louisiana to the late, Merrell and Edith Wall Rogers. He was a resident of Ponchatoula, Louisiana. Buddy was a veteran of the United States Navy and served during the conflict in Korea. He was also a Freemason.
Buddy is survived by his sons, Charles "Rex" Rogers, Jr. (Judy) and William G. Rogers (Kim); daughter, and Robin Ernst (Jeff); 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; brothers, Fred Rogers and Lloyd Rogers; caregiver, Mary Leon; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Irene Casanova Rogers; daughter, Tammy Wascom (Brad); brother, Bill Rogers; and sisters, Katherine King, Sandra Creel, and Barbara Keen.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Harry McKneely and Son Funeral Home in Hammond, 2000 N Morrison Boulevard, Hammond, Louisiana 70401, on Thursday, February 3, 2022, beginning at 6:00 PM. A funeral service will be held at 7:00 PM, after which the visitation will continue until 9:00 PM.
A military graveside service will be held on Sunday, February 20, 2020 at Holly Gardens, Hammond, LA at 1:00 p.m.
