Carole Kay Joachimi Horton passed away peacefully on June 13, 2021 at the age of 78 in Hammond, Louisiana. She was surrounded by her loving family.

Carole is survived by her children, Karen Elizabeth Lawrence Wall (Aaron Michael), Kelley Ann Lawrence Morris (Patrick) and Kimberly Clare Lawrence Brooks (Paul Timothy); grandchildren, Joshua Carr Adams, Alexander Lawrence Adams, Aaron Michael Adams and Darby Elizabeth Brooks; and sister, Janell Joachimi Dodd. She is preceded in death by her parents, John Mabry Joachimi and Myrle Joachimi and sisters, Joann Lowrey and Linda Joachimi.

Carole graduated from Beaumont High School in 1960. She later went on to graduate from Northeast Louisiana University in 1974 with a Bachelors in Performing Arts and a Masters Degree in 1976 in Speech and Drama. Over the years Carole was involved in Community Theater performing in numerous plays and musicals and moved on to choreographing and directing. Carole taught Theater and Ethics at St. Martins Episcopal School Metairie and Speech at Delgado Community College Northshore Campus. After Hurricane Katrina Carole moved back to Brenham Texas and continued her career in education as Head of School for several Pre-K programs. The number of young lives she touched through the years lives on as one of her greatest legacies.

A private memorial service will be held at Grace Memorial Episcopal Church in Hammond on Wednesday June 16th. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to The Michael J. Fox Foundation - Help Speed a Parkinson’s Cure or your local Community Theater.
