Calvin Thomas Jordan Jr., better known as Jr to his friends and family passed away at his home on Monday, June 21, 2021 surrounded by his loving wife of 38 years Dawn Murray Jordan and his children. Jr. fought a long, hard battle with lung cancer for almost two years but in end the his body grew weary and the Lord called him home at the age of 57.
He was born on April 27, 1964, in Independence, Louisiana, the son of the late Calvin Thomas Jordan, Sr. and Esther Deaton Jordan. During his short life Jr held many jobs but the most important of those was being a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. Jr enjoyed cooking and spending time with family and friends. Before cancer took his health from him Jr was the head mechanic and fabricator for WB Scrap where his work family will always remember him for his intuition and creativity.
Jr will be truly missed by his wife and his children, Paige Jordan, Calvin Jordan, III and wife Amanda, and Jacob Jordan and wife Emily; grandchildren, Cameron, Tyler, Mason, Cora and Hayven; siblings, Jolene Barlow and husband Nick, Petrisha Walker, Bobby Walker, Jr., Charlotte Smith and husband Ray, James Jordan, and Rusty Walker; father-in-law, Anthony Albrecht; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Jr was met at the gates of heaven by his parents and siblings, Roger Steven Jordan, Judy Jordan Pruett, and Brenda Jordan; step sister, Polly McElroy; mother-in-law, Janice Potter Albrecht; and brother-in-law, Bobby Walker, Sr.
Family and friends will be received at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, 100 W. Magnolia St., Ponchatoula, Louisiana 70454on Saturday, June 26, 2021 from 3:00 pm until 5:00 pm. A Funeral Service will begin at 5:00 pm. There will be a gathering for family and friends after the services at the home of Jr’s sister.
In lieu of flowers the family is requesting that donations be made to St Jude’s Cancer Center.
