Arley Smith passed away on Monday, October 3, 2016, in Hammond, Louisiana, at the age of 88. He was born on Tuesday, March 27, 1928, in Lumberton, Mississippi to the late Verma Smith Allen. He was a resident of Tickfaw, Louisiana. Arley is survived by his four sons and their wives, Robert Smith, Kenneth & Donna Smith, Michael & Tina Smith, and Tracey & Amy Smith; one daughter and her husband, Gretchen Smith & Dennis Musgrove; three sisters, Anita Delancey, Luneta Avant, and JoAnn Foil, and one brother, Sherman Allen. Also survived by 12 grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margie Sanchez Smith; mother, Verma Smith Allen; and grandparents, Mollie and Jasper Smith. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Service in the chapel of Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, 2000 N. Morrison Blvd, Hammond, Louisiana 70401, on Thursday, October 6, 2016 at 1:00 pm. Visitation will begin at 11:00 am and continue until service time.
