Ardell Wayne Broussard

Ardell Broussard, age 50, peacefully passed away on Friday, March 17, 2023, at Richard Murphy Hospice House in Hammond after a brief illness.  He was a momma's boy at heart and loved her dearly.  Ardell was known for his quiet and respectful demeanor, unless he was having drinks with friends at one of his favorite watering holes, singing Irish drinking songs.  He was a humble man who would help anyone who needed it, and never expected anything in return.  Ardell and his friends made their very own tribe that he called his chosen extended family, made up of friends he met throughout his life, and he loved them deeply.  There was also a tightly banded group of friends all given the name of Buford, Ardell was Buford 8.  Ardell was a wonderful soul who left this world too soon but will live on in the memories he made with his family and friends that they will cherish forever.

He leaves behind his loving mother, Mary Quinn Broussard; sister, Anita Broussard Worsham and husband Johnny; nephew, Ian Michael Worsham, aunts and uncles, Mary and Warren Broussard, Jim and Shirley Quinn, Larry and Pam Quinn, Wallace Quinn, Terry and Debra Quinn, Elaine and Richard Spurlock, Annette Quinn, Jo Ann and Kenneth Mitchell; as well as numerous cousins, and countless friends.

Preceding Ardell in death were his father, Ardell Charles Broussard; grandparents, James and Beatrice Quinn, Charles and Wilma Broussard; aunts, Judy Quinn and Alice Quinn; as well as a cousin, Michael Spurlock.

Family and friends are invited to attend the Celebration of Life Service on Friday, March 24, 2023, at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Hammond at 5:00 p.m. with visitation beginning at 3:00 p.m.

The family would like to thank North Oaks Oncologist, Georges Tanios, M.D., and the nurses providing care during treatment, Hospice of Baton Rouge and Staff, and Richard Murphy Hospice House for their love, care, and support during Ardell's final journey.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to be made to Richard Murphy Hospice House, 1109 N. Chestnut St. Hammond, La 70403 in Ardells' Honor.
